Please pre-purchase your State Leotard ASAP! All leotards will be available for pickup at State Meet. You MUST have your receipt available to show proof of purchase to pick up your order at State Meet. We plan to only place one order this year in January based on the pre-sale quantities. We may have some additional leotards for sale at state meets, but we cannot guarantee size or availability. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND REGIONALS, PLEASE PRE-ORDER!
As a reminder, all level 6-8 and Xcel State Team athletes will wear this leotard at Regionals. All athletes at these levels are encouraged to purchase the leotard if they plan on attending Regionals.
All Ohio athletes at all levels are welcome and encouraged to purchase the leo. This is the only fundraiser for our organization, which helps fund and provide coach education and support in Ohio for USAG coaches and judges.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Gantz of Centerville, OH.
He was the beloved owner of TOPS Gymnastics in Centerville, Ohio. Gary left us peacefully on November 18, 2024, surrounded by his cherished family and friends. Gary was not only a dedicated coach and mentor but also a passionate advocate for the sport of gymnastics. His unwavering commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a love for the sport has left an indelible mark on the lives of countless athletes. His vibrant spirit, kindness, and infectious enthusiasm will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his loving family, who will continue to honor his legacy through the values he instilled in them.
Rest in peace, Gary. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of those you inspired.

Region 5 is trying something new and we want your help!
Starting September 1 and running through September 30 we are asking for our community to design the State Leotards. Each state will use the winning design as their design for the annual state leotard (worn at Regionals for Xcel and Level 6-8), with a different color representing each state.
Here is what you need to know:
• Use the attached Silhouette
• No fancy straps, has to be tank style with solid straps
• Needs to say your state name
• Needs to say 2025 somewhere on the leotard
• No embellishments
All 5 states will be running this contest at the same time, then each state will choose 1 to bring to the committee for a vote. Every state will have the same leotard this year with different color pallets. So think about our GREAT region and design something that brings us all together!

So get those creative thoughts going and join in on the FUN, you might just be the one to design the 2025 Regional Leotard. The Ohio winner gets their Leo for free!

Dear Xcel coaches, athletes and families,
We are writing to inform you of an important update concerning the formation of state teams for the upcoming Xcel regional meet. It has come to our attention that there were errors in the initial team assignments which inadvertently resulted in multiple teams per session, rather than the intended single team per session.
The Region 5 team is actively working to correct these discrepancies within the core frameworks of the competition. We aim to release the revised information as soon as possible.
Please be aware that due to these corrections, there may be changes to the composition of the state teams, including the possibility that some athletes previously listed as team members may not be included in the revised listings. We understand the disappointment this may cause and sincerely apologize for any confusion and stress this may cause.
Thank you for your patience, support and understanding as we quickly correct the state team format. We are committed to providing timely updates and will inform you as soon as the corrected team listings are available.

• New for 2024 – Dev Nationals ONLY: To ensure that all qualified athletes are able to secure accommodations, a cancellation policy will be implemented for hotel rooms booked prior to the event. See below:
Cancellation Policy – 2024 Development Program National Championships:
o Cancellation occurs within 24 hours of booking – no penalty
o Cancellation occurs after 24 hours but prior to 7 days to arrival - $100 penalty per reservation
o Cancellation occurs 7 days (or less) prior to arrival - $100 penalty per reservation PLUS late cancellation fee of 1-night’s room + tax.
*If cancellation is required due to athlete injury, a doctor’s note will be needed to consider any waiver of cancellation penalties.
It is important to note that Dev Nationals is not the only large event taking place in Daytona Beach the weekend of May 9th – 12th. Please note that USA Gymnastics has secured enough hotel rooms in various blocks to account for both the MAG and WAG communities. However, individuals who hold rooms prior to qualification events do impact hotel block availability. In order to make sure there are enough rooms for those booking after their athlete qualifies, we ask for your assistance in helping to communicate this new policy for Dev Nationals.
