2021 State Qualifier Rule Update

Wednesday, December 23, 2020

After discussing the current and possible future effects of the pandemic on our sport in the state of Ohio, the state administrative committee felt it was in the best interest of our athletes to suspend one of our state rules for this season.

Normally, the following rule is in effect for all meets used as qualifiers for our state competitions.

"2. State Qualifier: - Must have 2 judges and MUST have 2 teams to count as a qualifier to state meet."

This rule can be found on our website on the following page:
Mobility Meets & Qualification Meets

For this season only we have chosen to suspend the part requiring 2 teams be competing to count as a state qualifier. We all felt that every athlete needed as many opportunities to be qualified for our state championships as possible this year. We will revisit this topic for next season if for some reason we are still dealing with this pandemic, otherwise the rule will return to normal for next season.

Please note that the 2 judge requirement is still in effect. So please remember to request enough judges for your competitions.

If you have any questions regarding this situation, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
