2021 Master Workshops For New Compulsories

Tuesday, April 6, 2021

INDIANAPOLIS, April 6, 2021 – USA Gymnastics has announced logistical details for the 2021 Women’s Development Program Master Compulsory Workshops, including a new location for one of the two workshops. The eastern workshop will now be held June 4-6 at Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla. The western workshop will remain at The Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev. June 11-13. Registration for both locations is now open for professional, junior professional and instructor members of USA Gymnastics.

These workshops, which take place every eight years and accompany changes to the women’s compulsory program, will aim to provide participants with a clear understanding of the 2021-29 USA Gymnastics Women’s Development Compulsory Program, from concepts and interpretation of the text to compulsory exercises and technical execution of the skills. Women’s Development Program Committee members will present the new compulsory exercises for all levels by actively walking through parts of the balance beam and floor exercise routines and presenting lecture demonstration for vaulting, uneven bars, and flexibility and conditioning. Coaches in attendance will have the opportunity to earn W311 University credit, and judges will be eligible to earn Continuing Education Clinic credits.

To accommodate individuals who are unable to attend in person or feel uncomfortable doing so because of the pandemic, the June 11-13 workshop will be livestreamed for remote participation. The registration cost for both onsite and remote attendees is $385. In-person registrants will receive a USA Gymnastics facial covering; a mini compulsory book; and access to the online version of the compulsory book with links to watch routines, download music, and view text descriptions, definitions and deductions.

USA Gymnastics will follow state and local COVID-19 guidelines at each workshop location and may implement safety protocols that go beyond the local restrictions in place at the time of the event, including social distancing and facial coverings. These protocols will be communicated to attendees in advance of their arrival.
